July 29th was an exciting day in the technology world! It’s the day Microsoft is released their latest operating system, Windows 10.
You may be tempted to upgrade to Windows 10 immediately (especially if you’re one of the qualifying users of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 who is being offered a free upgrade)…but what should you do BEFORE you make the switch?
Check out this 1 minute video tip from Andrew, one of Accent’s CIOs.
Windows 10 looks really cool, but rushing to download it might result in compatibility issues and other headaches for users. Check with your IT department (for Team Accent clients, that’s us) BEFORE upgrading to make sure it will work right in your business environment.
As with any new operating system, it is an IT best practice to test it on one machine first to see how it’s going to work with your existing systems, then roll it out to the organization. You need to make sure that it is compatible with your existing line of business applications, anti-virus solution, VPNs, hardware, etc. This thorough testing will minimize the risk of downtime and other disruptive technical issues.

If you use Web sites to share your documents, movies, pictures, and music files, you probably know what it means to have to convert files. Good thing there is a Web site that performs file format conversions online. It’s free, helpful, and extremely simple to use.
