Would Like to Introduce:
| |
| Welcome to the May issue of Protech IT
News. I hope that this newsletter finds you all well.
As a business professional, you constantly have to be
thinking about the security of your company’s documents,
contacts, and network. With all of the threats of
security breaches, it’s nice to know that there is
something that can be done to ease our minds. In the
article below titled “No Fear,” it talks about the ways
to recognize possible VoIP security threats and how to
avoid them at all costs.
The article “Chasing Too Much Paper?” presents ways
to decide what documents should be scanned and saved to
electronic document management, instead of having them
fill up your office space. |

With rising gas prices and a falling
economy taking a toll on all of us, it’s important to us to do
all we can to help our customers reduce cost. We decided to
have an additional Lunch and Learn this month on May 22. We
will be having a presentation from TelePacific Communications
who will talk about “Reducing the Cost of Telecommunications
and Internet Access.”
I
hope to see you all
there! |

Fear Everyday Network
Security Protects VoIP Networks, Too
If

it's making huge strides toward lower telecommunications
costs. However, you may be concerned about security risks that
crop up when your voice and data networks converge.
If hackers break into your VoIP
network, they now can access more than just your sensitive
company information and network data. They are also privy to
all your employees' conversations.

Chasing Too Much Paper? Making the Transition to Electronic Document
Management
If your company is exploring the
idea of electronic document management, you may be thrilled
with its promise of higher efficiency, but also intimidated —
even overwhelmed — by the complexity of transitioning to such
a large system.
That’s because if your company is
like most, the sheer volume of the documents you process is
staggering.
According to IDC, 95 percent of all
business information is still paper-based. And the amount of
time spent wading through this flood of data is equally
immense — often up to 40 percent of employees’ time, according
to research by Xerox.
