I have
some exciting news!
On
December 19th I was issued my Private Pilot’s license. For the
last 10 years I have been considering going through the
training and certification process but there was always an
excuse . . .it takes too much time . . .it costs too much
money . . .what would I do with the license even if I had it?
Well, I did it and it was just in time for Christmas. My
extended family from Texas and my son from Walnut Creek were
in town for the holidays and I got the chance to take them all
for rides in a Cessna 172 that I rented. What a great time!
Everyone loved the ride and I “greased” the landings.
On to
the business part of this newsletter, we constantly strive to
improve our processes and update our staff members on new
technology that will help save our customers’ time and money.
As you know, we are dedicated to helping you reduce the cost
and risk of Information Technology while improving your
efficiency and productivity. We have implemented new processes
to help us help you by being more efficient ourselves. Some of
the gains we have made in reducing the time that a Service
Ticket is open will help you get your issues resolved faster
and put you back to work instead of waiting on you IT system.
As well,
we have implemented some very interesting Virtual Server
projects that have really saved our clients money on computer
hardware. With Virtual Servers, you do not have to have
multiple computers on your site to do all of the traditional
“Server” jobs. You save on computers, you save on electricity,
you “go green,” and you save on the labor to manage all of
that equipment. As a side benefit, Virtual Servers give you a
giant head start on Disaster Recovery.
I hope
you enjoy this issue of Protech IT News. I have presented
articles this month that stem from questions and concerns I
have heard from our clients.
