T he holiday season is almost over and so is the year. It is unbelievable how quickly time flies. This month has been one of the busiest time periods I have experienced in a very long time.

We had a fantastic turn out to our Business Security and the Internet Lunch and Learn event, with over 70 people attending the event.

Mike Foster once again provided the audience with very informative facts concerning security in the business place today. He touched on

basic issues and questions every business owner does not want to face:

Imagine how much money, time and credibility your organization would lose per hour if your network was comprised.
Imagine having to notify your clients that you’ve had a security breach and that their private data has been released to identity thieves.
Imagine how your customers would react if you had to tell them that you could not serve them for a few days because your network was hacked or stopped working.

Many of the attendees raved about the value they received from this Free event . . .not to mention a Free Lunch!

We at Accent Computer Solutions Inc. have been blessed this year with awesome team members, great clients, and very healthy business growth.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Holiday Season and thank you for your continued patronage.

Marty

Etiquette for wireless

It's now to the point you are never absolutely certain your important communication will actually get read. While spam and the volume of email are culprits, your missive now has another hurdle to jump, -. handheld. devices. Itty bitty screens and ittty bitty keyboards are not the perfect formula for reading and responding to email.

The rules for sending email to wireless devices are focused on one thing – brevity. Ignore the realties of using one of these wonderful tools and you are increasing the odds that your email will get stuck in a spam filter or tossed into the virtual trash, unread .    Read More

Getting Started with SharePoint

Windows Sharepoint Services

Did you know that Server 2003 and Business Server 2003 have SharePoint services? SharePoint is the foundation for a company portal. Do you remember when all files were saved in a filing cabinet instead of on your network? By getting started with Share Point your files no longer just reside in some folder in your network, but files are as easy to find or search for as using a search engine like Google.

Let us demonstrate our understanding of your business needs, not just your technology needs. By providing a central repository for documents and business intelligence, and customizing it to your exact business, we have transitioned from just storing documents to a more intellectual way of managing your information.

The goal is to create the foundation for a company portal, design a robust and reliable Intranet to ease corporate management, improve collaboration and workflow for all employees, and enable highly-secure and managed access and information sharing. The components covered under our SharePoint start up package are:

  • Corporate Homepage
    • Announcements
    • Discussions
    • SharePoint Tips and Tricks
  • Company Collateral
    • Company brochures
    • Internal/External press releases
    • Company awards and recognition
  • Human Resources
    • Employee manual
    • Vacation request forms
    • Expense reports
    • Computer usage policies and procedures
  • Vacation and Executive Calendar
    • Daily, weekly, monthly and annual group calendar
    • Details of all approved time-off from work
